MAKE AN IMPACT
Here are a few ways to help get more kids on bikes!
We Need New Wheels to Help
Keep Our Community Rolling
Over the past few years, we’ve used two vehicles to serve our community and the surrounding areas. Through our efforts, we’ve racked up miles of drive time and countless hours on the road, which has resulted in harsh wear and tear on our beloved “Big Blue” box truck and NICA van. With your support, we hope to acquire new wheels to continue the valuable and impactful work that we, and our communities, love.
DONATED BIKES DON’T FIX THEMSELVES
WE HAVE THE WRENCHES, WE NEED THE SPACE
Since our formation in 2018 we’ve had hundreds of bikes come through the Stallion and then find new homes across the Navajo Nation and surrounding communities. This year we’ve reached a crux, in that we no longer have enough space to store bike donations, then prepare/repair bikes for distribution. It is our hope to secure a building/place that will appropriately support our operational needs.
SILVER STALLION youth PROGRAMING
In partnership with Gallup McKinley County Schools (GMCS) School Counselors and Social Workers, Silver Stallion is providing after-school DEVO (development) mountain bike rides throughout the Navajo Nation and Gallup. Our goal is to build this DEVO program in a way that funnels young riders into our supported NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association) programs, then eventually in to our more advanced Silver Stallion Race/Enduro Teams.
Barista apprenticeship program launch
Coffee and value of coffee education has always been a staple it in the Stallion ecosystem. We aim to provide our youth and young adults with adequate skills in the coffee industry so that they can confidently walk in to any coffee shop with the tools to succeed in the industry.
